The start of the summer season – endlessly long days filled with beach outings,  hot weather, cool drinks, delicious summer fruit…

I’m partial to fresh fruit as one of summer’s many offerings. Watermelon is one of my all-time favorites!

In addition to its refreshing taste and its healing powers of dehydration and sun protection, the watermelon has also inspired some lifestyle and beauty innovations. I share three of my favorite watermelon-inspired items below:

Essie’s Watermelon – I don’t paint my nails a lot (once a month at most ) which is why I always feel guilty when I buy new nail polish… but I just couldn’t resist this!

The color is an amazing reddish-orangey-pinky hue on my olive skin. I always felt a little bit perkier when I catch a glimpse of the color on my nails. I will say that I like the color better on my toes than my fingers – bright toes paired with my black gladiators are tres chic!

Bath and Body Works ‘Watermelon Lemonade’ – This smells absolutely divine. I’ve only tried a few other Bath and Body Works candles  but this is my favorite by far. I know what candle I’m going to hoard this summer!

Tocca Simone, CAD $82 from Sephora

Tocca Simone, CAD $82 from Sephora

Tocca’s Simone – A new fragrance from the Tocca line that smells like fruity-floral-musky goodness! I got a sample of this in a Sephora order and I immediately went out to buy it after trying it on. On my skin, it smells like watermelon mixed with lemon and apple which stays on for a few hours and then fades into a floral-musk. I love fruity fragrances but most can smell a little bit young. I love that this is balanced between a youth-like scent and an adult muskiness.

Refinery29 described this as a ‘tomboy’ scent and this is the review that strengthened my resolve to get this scent for myself. How could I resist anything that promises to capture my charm? 🙂
