Alright, so here is the long-awaited, final installment of my Summer Lovin’ series – a jewelry and fashion haul!
I waited for so long to upload this because I wanted to get a tripod so I could take pictures of me wearing the items BUT I ended up not buying one so here are just some pictures of the items themselves. I do apologize – I am still working up my courage to pose for pictures since I actually feel really uncomfortable in front of the camera. 🙂
I love getting new accessories when I go shopping…is the term ‘accessory junkie’ a thing? Some gals are bag gals, shoes, makeup gals….I’m totally an accessory gal!
I made this beautiful necklace with the help of this tutorial from ‘Henry Happened’. I was inspired to make this necklace after seeing some fashion blogs featuring chain jewelry. I originally went to Etsy to see if I could purchase a similar necklace but then realized that it was easy enough to make! I fished out some old thread from a cross-stitch project I started (but never finished) and ran out to my neighborhood Shoppers Drug Mart to get the chain necklace (CAD$12). The tutorial is really easy to follow and I love DIYS – I really like how this necklace turned out.
I thrifted this beautiful necklace two months ago for only $10 at a boutique thrift store in Point Grey.
This was featured in my June favorites last month. 🙂
Scored this belt from Anthropologie at a seriously discounted price (birthday discount in May + it was already on sale). I have yet to wear it…but hey, I wouldn’t be an accessory junkie if I didn’t have random belts in my closet that I just like to look at and touch but not wear?!
Random hair ties from Sephora which are actually as good as they were hyped up to be.
Alright…FASHION. I love me some fashion. Here we go!
quick words: The AE top was in my June favorites and the Anthropologie top was only CAD$7.99 after my birthday discount + sale. I really love bargains!
I had such a blast designing this midi skirt with some batik material I brought back from Singapore. A friend with really impressive sewing skills put it together for me – I think we make a pretty formidable fashion design team!
The navy tulle skirt I scored at a really huge bargain from this upscale store on Commercial Drive called Barefoot Contessa (love the store, the prices not so much) for only CAD $10!
I finally got a pair of white denim at a good price! I also love wearing shorts and comfy slacks in the summer – I definitely feel more ‘lazy tomboy’ than ‘princess’ in the summertime.
I love hats and now that my hair is growing longer, I can wear them with style again!
What are some of your favorite summer fashion pieces?
