Who, What, Wear: Batik Midi Skirt

Welcome to my first ever outfit post! Clothes and fashion are my first love when it comes to the world of fashion and beauty. Note: I really dislike being in front of the camera. I find that being in front of the camera brings out THE MOST AWKWARD parts of my personality (on a day-to-day basis though, these parts of my personality are the ones I love most). So here’s to awkward photos galore! YAY!

TOP: Black American Eagle jersey crop top (I forgot how much it costs but definitely less than CAD$15)
BOTTOM: Batik Midi Skirt that was first featured in my summer haul post (handmade by a friend, designed by me)
ACCESSORIES: Turquoise necklace was a handmade gift from my lil’ sister
SHOES: Black low-heeled gladiator sandals from Ronson’s Rack (on sale for CAD$30)

For this outfit, I wanted to keep the focus on the ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL batik midi skirt which I designed and was handmade by a friend. I kept the rest of the outfit pretty basic with a plain black crop top and minimal jewelry.

I wore this outfit when I emceed and performed at a performance showcase for Ramadan last week in Vancouver.

Thanks to my wonderful friend, Urooba Jamal for taking the photos. I’ve followed Urooba’s stylish adventures for a few years now and must say that her blog is very inspirational to me. Check out her fabulous blog here!
