Late Summer Beauty Finds

I’ve really been enjoying my recent adventures into the Land of Beauty. I’ve been switching up my skincare products, body products and experimenting with makeup. Ah, the joys of being a (tomboy) princess. Embracing the princess parts of me always puts me in a fun, feminine and flirty mood.

Here are some late summer beauty finds. My reasons for this ‘haul’ is two-fold. I recently purged my beauty stash to get rid of BDS-listed products and needed to replenish my makeup. I am also looking forward to fall! Vancouver is beginning to get cooler weather and some rain…which means fall is on its way.

First Aid Beauty Cleanser

I’m giving this cleanser a shot since finding out that Cetaphil is on the BDS list (for more BDS products I purged, check out this blog post). I already love their Ultra Repair Cream (review here) and have their eye cream on hand as well (review here). So why not just make it one big happy family and get the cleanser as well?

Patrick Curelle Hand and Body lotion

I suffered a terrible rash all over my body two weeks ago when I tried a new, heavily scented body lotion. I’m sticking to lotions that are low on the ingredient list and scents from now on. This one is perfect for sensitive skin and was recommended to me by a helpful sales associate at Whole Foods.

LAVANILA deodorant

This deo has been making its rounds in the Youtube beauty community so I decided to give it a shot. I purged my last deodorant which I had for two years (I know right?! Gross.) I definitely like that this deo is all-natural and has no aluminum in it. It is refreshing to apply this deo and I like the ‘Vanilla Lavender’ scent. As for its deodorizing power, it will last on me for half a day before I feel a need for re-application.

I was on the lookout for a dark lipstick for fall and chanced upon ‘Bordeaux’ (the one on the right) from Rimmel. It retailed for CAD$3.99 at my local drugstore so I couldn’t resist picking up the orange one as well.

I really like these eyeliners – I’ve tried using them a couple of times now and really admire their staying power.

I’ve been on the lookout for a versatile eyeshadow palette. I did my fair share of research on the eyeshadow palettes currently available and decided to settle on this one. I really like the color selection in this palette – it is varied and isn’t too overwhelming (I’m looking at you, Naked palettes) which is useful for a beginner like me. It is versatile enough to create everyday, neutral looks as well as amped up, smoky eye looks for special occasions. I adore the cute packaging and fun names as well!

Are you looking forward to fall? What are some small changes you are doing to your skincare/beauty routine as the weather transitions?
