August 2014 Favorites

It’s August favorites time. This month seemed to go on FOREVER for me. Anyone else feeling that?

I thought I wouldn’t have a lot of favorites this month but I came up with quite a bit when I looked through my bathroom and closet. Here they are! Summer 2014 final favorites post.

L -R : MUFE mascara, Marc Jacobs Lip Lock, UD Eye Primer Potion, Nude Tude from The Balm, Tarte Inner Rim Eyeliner, UD Revolution Lipstick ‘Rush’, favorite jaw clip

MUFE Smoky Extravagant mascara – I talked about this mascara in my Summer Lovin’ series here. I’ve been using it all spring and summer. I love how it makes my lashes look long and thick without being too clumpy.

Marc Jacobs Lip Lock – I received a VIB sample of this in a Sephora order I made last month. This lip balm is super moisturizing. I put it on before I sleep and my lips feel moisturized when I wake up in the morning. I would totally splurge on a full-size product but the price tag really gets me! Perhaps as a winter treat…?

UD Anti-Aging Eye Primer Potion   , The Balm’s Nude Tude palette & Tarte Inner Rim Eyeliner

I talked about these 3 products in my Late Summer Beauty Finds post. I’ve been busting them out every weekend in August as an excuse to play around with makeup. I’ve been experimenting with different eye makeup looks with the Nude Tude palette coupled with the MUFE mascara and Tarte Inner Rim eyeliner.

Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in ‘Rush’

I got this in my VIB lip sample and once I put it on my lips, I knew. I just knew. This is the perfect nude lipstick my humble makeup collection is missing. This is it, y’all. I’m heading out to Sephora to get this once my self-imposed shopping ban is lifted next month.

Jaw Clip – Useful for putting my hair up now that it’s longer. Useful in the shower to put my hair up when it’s doused in conditioner. ‘Nuff said.

L – R: Patrick Curelle Body Lotion, FAB cleanser, FAB Ultra Repair Cream, FAB eye cream, tea tree oil

Patrick Curelle body lotion & First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser

I talked about these two products in my Late Summer Beauty Finds post. The body lotion is perfect for my sensitive skin – it’s luxurious but dries out quickly. Amazing!

I’ve also used the FAB cleanser for the past two weeks (morning and night) and am super happy with how my skin looks. I love the whole line really.

Five-Year Memory Journal (something similar here

I got this cute journal on a whim when I got a new book to read for Fall. I’ve been journaling in it every night before bed for two weeks. It’s such a simple and easy way for me to upkeep my writing skills. It’s also really nostalgic for me because I’ve been journaling since I was 7!

Essie’s Quick-E Drops & Essie’s Watermelon

I don’t do much nail painting and like to keep it classic with reds and nudes. I’ve painted my nails less than 5 times this summer but I always use Essie’s Watermelon color on my toes. Sadly, Essie is a BDS brand so I won’t be re-purchasing from them in the future.

Crop Top – thrifted from Front and Company (my favorite speciality thrift store right now). Check out this Who,What, Wear post to see an example of how I styled this crop top.

Yellow Blouse – I got this a few years back in a random mall store in Singapore. My mom convinced me to get this color and I ended up really loving the color of this top. I love the flowy nature of the top and how easy it is to throw out over a pair of shorts/pants/jeans…whatever! I instantly feel happy when I wear this top.

This weekend is Labor Day weekend! One last hurrah for summer! Anyone have exciting plans?

    • thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment.
Check out my reviews of the FAB ultra repair cream and eye cream too. I know Sephora gives out samples of the FAB items…otherwise, you can also check out their FAB Faves to Go Kit if you were interested in trying them out w/o committing to buying full-size products.
      I sound like a FAB rep – promise I’m not 🙂
