Review: Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate

Fall is here which means cooler, drier weather is on the way. Never fear, o gentle skin of mine…Kiehl’s magic is here!

I bought this at the end of summer and have been using for a little over a month. Here are my thoughts.

What it promises (from Kiehl’s website):

~ lightweight, readily-absorbed

~ restores skin’s healthy appearance overnight, resulting in smoother, more radiant complexion by morning

~  naturally derived oils instantly penetrate the skin surface to help replenish it

~ “With skin hydrated, supple and soft, rest assured you can say goodnight to tired-looking skin.”

What it delivers:

This product definitely does what it promises!

It absorbs within a minute of application and the oil is lightweight. I use 3 drops for my face (guess I have a larger than average face). The smell of the oil is light and pleasant. I then layer my eye cream and moisturizer over it.

The first few nights I used this oil, I noticed that my face looked considerably brighter in the morning. I looked more awake and my skin looked plump and happy.

After a month of using it, my skin has become more balanced – my oily T-zone is under control and I have less hormonal breakouts on my chin and jawline. *fist pump*

Price point:

I purchased this at a Kiehl’s boutique in a mall and it cost CAD$50 for 30ml (tax not included).

Considering the amount you need to use every night, this product is definitely worth it. I’ve had it for about a month and I’ve used less than 1/6 of the bottle! I’m guessing this bottle probably lasts 6 -8 months.

Overall rating: A+

Thoughts: I would definitely recommend this product especially if you are looking for an extra boost of ‘something-something’ before you apply your moisturizer on at night. Yes, it’s slightly pricey…but it works and it lasts a while. Factoring in cost per use, it’s worth it in my book.

Have you tried this product? What about other types of face serums/oils?

Stay true xo

  1. i’ve always loved kiehl’s products! latest one i tried was the clearly corrective dark spot solution which didn’t seem to do much 😐 i might give this one a try 🙂

    • hey hey! 🙂 you can walk into Kiehl’s and ask for a sample. In my experience, they are more than happy to give you a sample of this stuff when you ask nicely. In fact, I got a sample first before going in and buying the whole thing! good luck xo
