What a Colorful World: Teal & Fuschia

Spring is officially here so it’s that time of year to switch around your wardrobe.

I’ve noticed that spring time is when I bust out some of my favorite colors to wear…teal and fuschia!

– teal and fuschia are tertiary colors (colors formed by mixing equal amounts of a primary and secondary color together)

– teal is a combination of blue and green, fuschia is a combination of red and purple

– both are considered ‘cool’ colors

A color that brings out confidence and elegance. Teal is a classic color. It can be easily confused with turquoise and aqua. Teal is a shaded blue-green, turquoise has more tint than teal and more blue than aqua and aqua has the most amount of blue and tint in it.

For the longest time, I mistook my favorite color to be turquoise but now I know it by its true name…teal.

Teal: Spring 2015

How amazing is that purple-blue-teal-aqua hair! I love the shaded nature of teal – the depth and darkness of this color adds warmth to my skin tone.

A color that is simultaneously playful and sophisticated. Fuschia is an energetic color. It can be easily confused with magenta. Fuschia is a purplish-red while magenta is a pink-red.

Fuschia: Spring 2015

Here is how I would style teal and fuschia into my spring wardrobe. I intentionally picked items that are similar to items I have in my wardrobe.

Back to The Fuschia: Spring 2015

I love pairing a bright fuschia top with some dark flared jeans. Add a camel coat, biscotti colored floppy hat, classic black booties and a blush purse…you’ve got yourself an outfit that is on-trend with the 70s vibe. Don’t forget the fuschia lip and blue earrings!

Teal We Meet Again: Spring 2015

Teal pops against white which is why I am pairing this teal top with white skinny jeans. Balance out the teal with brown – a crossbody bag and knee high boots will add functionality to the outfit. A grey cardigan acts as a light layer and purple adds asmall contrasting pop of color.

What are you favorite colors to wear for spring?

you’ve been stylesyah-ed! xo

    • Mint and coral are great spring colors especially for people with fair features! I’m sure you look stunning in mint and coral. 🙂 Those colors tend to wash me out though so I stick to deeper tones 🙂

    • Aqua is beautiful! It looks especially great on people with fair features and dark hair…amazing contrast 🙂 I stay away from blues myself except the deeper tones one otherwise I look like a washed out mermaid hehe

  1. Heeeeeey Syahidah, I have nominated you for The Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award! I bet you are quivering in excitement… or perhaps you might be hitting your head against a wall repeating the phrase “Not another award, not another award!” You don’t have to accept this award, but I would love for you to pop over to my blog and come celebrate! There will be imaginary champagne, disco balls and a drumming cat! What more could one want? Hehe.
