No other makeup line in 2015 has received as much attention as the Charlotte Tilbury makeup line.
It’s pretty easy to see why. Tilbury’s philosophy is to help women understand themselves and equip them with the necessary makeup knowledge and tools to help them feel confident and empowered. Even if you don’t buy into the whole ‘I really care about you, not your money‘ spiel, the packaging and marketing of the products alone will convince you that these products cater to women who embrace luxury in their everyday lives. It is clear to me that CT has put a lot of thought into the line – with different makeup looks for different personalities and different skin tones (something to always celebrate as many makeup lines ignore women of color). I haven’t had a chance to try out these products personally but many beauty enthusiasts have been raving about the quality of their products. Beauty and substance? Sign me up!
If I were to spend some hard-earned moolah on makeup, here would be my picks from the CT line. When makeup is expensive like the products in this line, I like to pick products that will last for a few years and will be versatile enough to use for many situations. This means I stick to powder (no talc though) or lip products. Liquid and eye products are tricky since they expire within a few months. Here are my picks:
Stoned Rose is a warm rose-nude color. According to several online reviews and swatches, this color changes according to lighting conditions – it can go from looking like peach to mauve. This is the darkest color in the CT nude lipstick range and reportedly, more pigmented than other colors in the range. I am personally drawn to anything with rose undertones so this color is right up my alley. I’m pretty sure this color would look great on anyone with medium olive to deeper skin!
The Dolce Vita lip kit takes the guesswork out of achieving the perfect nude-pink lip. ‘Penelope Pink’ is a nude pink that goes well with the famous ‘Pillowtalk’ lip cheat. The lip gloss in ‘Seduction’ also seems to be a nude-pink complement to both products. I already have a nude-peach lip color in my current makeup collection and I’ve been hankering for a nude-pink one. This set seems to be on point!
I’ve been on the lookout for an easy to apply, creamy emerald green eyeshadow for almost a year! This product seems promising. A green smokey eye with a nude-peach lip color for night time would be a great color combination for my medium to dark olive skin.
