Top Shelf Skincare

Today’s blog post was inspired by Into the Gloss’s Instagram series called #ITGtopshelf which highlights the high-quality/HG products sitting on the shelves of skincare enthusiasts like myself. Here’s my current Top Shelf:

La Roche-Posay thermal spring water: A relatively new member of my top shelf but a quick favourite! I spray this on my face before and after cleansing.

Skoah face wash: I recently switched to this oil-free version when I realized that I was having a negative reaction to the olive oil extract in the other Skoah cleanser I was using.

Skoah “tonik” toner: Gentle and alcohol-free so it’s perfect for my sensitive skin.

Skoah kontrol serum: I use this serum day and night. It deeply hydrates my skin and helps control redness in areas where my rosacea strikes.

Skoah face lotion SPF 25: Another oil-free product. I love that this is light and non-greasy but imparts a dewy glow on my face. I also love the SPF in this.

Skoah Hydradew mask: An amazing clear mask that dries clear and smells like honeydew. I use this every night to bed instead of a regular night cream.

Skoah AHA mask: I love this stuff. It gently exfoliates and my skin feels smooth after each use. I use it 2-3 times a week.

Metrogel: Medication my doctor prescribed last month when she diagnosed me with acne rosacea. I use this day and night.

Lush Grease Lightning: Great for spots on my skin. It helps heal any pimples quicker and doesn’t leave any scars.

Let me know if you want more of an in-depth review on any of these products. I’ll be happy to oblige!

    • I go to Skoah for my monthly facials and have been doing so for the past 8 months πŸ™‚ It’s a local skincare brand that started in Vancouver in 2001. I believe they have branches in Seattle, Boston and Calgary now. My skin has never felt better! I use their products because they work – they are not 100% all-natural but they use many natural plant extracts, are sulphate-free and paraben-free. Skoah is great – I can’t recommend it enough.

  1. I’ve never heard of the brand. Where did you purchase? I use Sothys products mainly- cleanser, mosturizer and eye cream. I also use mud facial mask and exfoliate once a week. My skin is VERY sensitive.

    • Yup, on the same boat with sensitive skin. Your skin looks great…you must really take care of it. πŸ™‚

Skoah is a local Vancouver brand – they have spas all over the city and a skincare/bodycare line. I get most of my stuff from them when I go in for my monthly facials. They have an online store if you wanted to check them out! I recommend the AHA mask – it’s the only exfoliant I use that is gentle enough on my sensitive skin.
